Grants Available for Women Entrepreneurs in Muskegon County

MUSKEGON — Women entrepreneurs in Muskegon County can now apply for grants designed to help their businesses grow and thrive. The Business Equity Initiative (BEI) has opened its 2026 grant application period, which runs through Feb. 28.

Founded by longtime friends Nancy McCarthy, Mary Anne Gorman, and Kim Suarez, the Business Equity Initiative, now in its fifth year, is rooted in a shared commitment to racial and social justice — and to building an economy that truly works for everyone.

“Equity is a huge issue in Muskegon,” said Suarez. “There are so many people in this community who want to help level the playing field for women business owners.”
